Zdarma Party 2

After the big succes of Zdarma 1 we were almost forced to organize another one just one month later, that is in November 1999. As the coded name for the first party was Zdarma Welcome, we chosed to use Zdarma Trust for the second because it symbolised all the trust from other people, trust that we would make an other party.

We decided to be more professional in managing our finances. We made a budjet and bouth exactly what was necessary. Thanks to Chrostophe's Spot (a little Citroën) it was easy to transport all the drinks from Carrefour (the closest hyper-market).

As you can see, the operation of buying drinks was yet enough funny itself.

An other difference was that JB announced he would come with a great stuff from Paris. And yes indeed, we were just taking a little break when a total invasion surprised us.

Invasion of people from Paris

Starting this moment, we were sure that the Zdarma 2 was successful.

I was about to forget that an other boosted thing we prepared were customizated T-shirts for every organizator. For example, we had two girls at the entry (Julia and Linda) for getting money from guests, and it seemed much more professional when they had T-shirts with the sign "Opératrices".

Christophe has lend few disco-lights from some friend so we had a nice lighting, including the stroboscope for techno sequences.

In general, we improved the image of ourselves in roles of Djs. Our aim was to boost people's will to dance and we used of all techniques. Dancing on chairs was one of them:

As we expected, more than 70 persons came and it was enough to pay all drinks and the T-shirts. But it was important mainly for the good atmosphear they generated.

General view of Zdarma 2

We improved music's quality with some better loud-speakers, the bar was actually also better managed and the coloured lights allowed us to take some nice pictures of nice people doing nice things:

With all these improvements, Zdarma became a known concept not only between people living at Georges Lefèvre but in the whole student's community in Lille. People from Paris were enthousiastic too, of course. However, there was not enough time to organize another Zdarma before the millenium, so this was the last Zdarma in the second millenium (comment about the difference between millenium and year x000). But as Nostradamus was wrong it was not the last Zdarma at all!
