We have spent the year 1998-1999 to make parties in our homes almost every day, but for 1999-2000 we decided to reduce the quantity and increase the quality. In Lefèvre there was a room called "salle de travail". Inside were only tables and chairs allowing people study in groups. Once we have tested a way to study much more effectively: each guy learned only one part of the whole program and than all the guys transmited what they learned each to other.

We decided to use this room for our parties because it was enough big for 50 people. But before a big party we had to find a way to put good music. We had a lot of mp3 songs that we had beeing compressing for about one year so there was not the problem. But we had to test the maximum output of all loudspeakers avalaible in the neighbourhood.

Several times during the test afternoon we had to negociate with neighbours the right to realize this tests. But as we had been elected as delegates of this dormitory we had alwas the last word. The argument was that we were preparing a big party for all students and that is has been approved by Mr Rolland, the director.

After testing, we had to install and configure all in the "salle de travail". With the computer came an amplifier, two loudspeakers and a hallogene lamp.

While we were doing last modifications, first people began to arrive. We had bought some drinks and wanted people to give us some coins, but we were so bad organized that at the end 90% of our budget were missing.

Anyway more and more people were coming and surprisingly there was more girls than guys.

After short intro-discussions and because the music was really excellent, everybody began to dance, and it lasted all the night as we expected.

There were a lot of people from Lefèvre but from outside as well, thanks to Greek community. (There was a lot of Greek people studying law in Lille at that time.)

The atmosphear was like in disco-club and in spite of some unprofessional look of a pc-dj, mp3 worked very fine. The main advantage of mp3 music is that you don't have to change CD's every song and you can participate to the dance or other interesting activity...

Because we hadn't quantities of drinks we decided to manage them and Socratis went to an improvised bar. He was very cool in this role.

At the end of the night only people fond of dance were still boosting:

Everybody was very tired but when all guests went to bed at 7 a.m. we decided nevertheless to clean the room. It was funny to see all the tired but well dressed people cleaning a disgusting floor. Nadina showed us how to clean in a particular way:
